Did you know that the oceans cover around 71 percent of the Earth’s surface and contains 99 percent of the living space on the planet? This goes to show that there are many living creatures and organisms within the vast oceans, which we take for granted. Some people have a lot of misconceptions about the oceans and are petrified to even go near the water. But if you are willing to let go of that fear you can have some of the most amazing experiences and interactions of your life within the ocean.
There has been a long history of inventors creating different forms of breathing apparatuses to make it possible to breath underwater but it wasn’t until around 1942 when Jacques Cousteau & Emile Gagnan co-invented the modern demand regulator and then went on to develop the Aqua-Lung brand which is what a lot of modern divers use to this day. Without this invention we would not be able to explore the oceans and have these incredible interactions with some of the most remarkable creatures.
White Sand Diving is lucky and proud to be able to take advantage of this every day and we would love to share this with you and even introduce you, if you have not yet had the opportunity to take advantage of such an amazing experience. Our photographer extraordinaire, Jamie Butler has created another special little video to show you some of these amazing creatures that we get to see on a daily basis.
