Not only does this place have a great name, it’s the perfect place to relax after a morning Dive Trip on the East End of Grand Cayman.
Location, Location, Location
Being located on the North Side of Grand Cayman, only a 20 minute drive away from Kite Beach in East End, it’s usually a great place to shelter form the wind in the winter months. It’s an ideal setting to enjoy an afternoon for all ages.
Once you’ve made use of the volleyball court and sun loungers, their white sandy beach allows for easy entries and exits into the ocean. And the clear, shallow waters make for great snorkelling. Of course there is the Wreck Bar & Grill, where you can enjoy colourful cocktails and food. Rum Point does claim to be the “home of the Mud Slide”, so if you haven’t tried one yet you should definitely pay a visit to bar tender Claire (who’s currently working towards her Open Water certification).
Come Diving With Us
Many diving guests who choose to stay in the Rum Point area use White Sand Diving, as we are the closest East End Scuba Diving Operation. If your vacation rental has a pool, the White Sand Team can come to you. We can provide Try Scuba experiences, from as young as 8 years old, or you can work towards your Open Water Certification. The academic portion of your training can be completed online at home before you get to Grand Cayman, therefore you won’t be using precious holiday time “studying books”. When you’ve successful passed your scuba diving course, I’m sure the Dive Team would be happy to celebrate with an infamous Mud Slide.
Dive Team Chilling
Rum Point is popular amongst the White Sand Dive Team, as it’s an awesome place to remind you of how beautiful the Cayman Islands are. You’ll often find them relaxing during their down time on the beach with a White Tip in hand and a food order on the way.
